NCT ID NCT07206992

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving antibiotics for just 24 hours before urological surgery is enough to prevent infections after the procedure. Currently, doctors recommend 48 hours of antibiotics, but there is no proof that 24 hours is not enough. The study will include 894 adults who have a positive urine culture and are scheduled for certain types of urological surgery. The main goal is to see how many people develop a post-operative infection.
