Could 24 hours of antibiotics be enough before urological surgery?

NCT ID NCT07206992

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether giving antibiotics for just 24 hours before urological surgery works as well as the usual 48-hour course to prevent infections after the procedure. About 894 adults with a positive urine culture who are scheduled for certain types of urological endoscopic surgery will take part. The goal is to see if a shorter antibiotic course can safely reduce the risk of post-operative infections.
