Acute transplant rejection
MONDO:1010187A transplant rejection that is caused by an immune response directed against the graft and occurs between 1 week and several months after transplantation. Acute rejection is diagnosed on histological analysis of a graft biopsy. Acute rejection is thought to result from two immunological mechanisms that may act alone or in combination: (1) a T-cell-dependent process that corresponds to acute cellular rejection, and (2) a B-cell-dependent process that generates the acute humoral rejection.

New drug aims to stop kidney transplant rejection
Disease control Not yet recruitingThis study tests a new medicine called CID-103 in adults whose kidney transplants are being rejected by their immune system (antibody-mediated rejection). The trial has two parts: first, to find a safe dose, and second, to see if the drug can stop the rejection. About 58 people w…

New hope for kidney transplant patients: drug targets rejection
Disease control Not yet recruitingThis study tests a drug called mezagitamab in people who have had a kidney transplant and are experiencing a type of rejection called antibody-mediated rejection (AMR). AMR happens when the body's immune system attacks the donor kidney, which can lead to kidney failure. The study…

New study aims to unlock secrets of kidney transplant rejection
Knowledge-focused Not yet recruitingThis observational study at the University of Pittsburgh will enroll 24 kidney transplant recipients to deeply analyze why some rejections are stubborn. Researchers will use biopsies and blood samples to map immune cells and genetic changes. The goal is to better predict and unde…

New MRI technique aims to spot kidney transplant rejection early
Knowledge-focused Not yet recruitingThis study will use advanced MRI scans to look at kidney transplants in 140 patients. The goal is to see if MRI can measure how well the kidney is working and tell the difference between stable function and problems like rejection. Researchers hope this could lead to a non-invasi…
