First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether a therapy called written exposure therapy, done over video calls, could help prevent or reduce PTSD symptoms in women who had recently been sexually assaulted. Thirty women who visited a sexual assault nurse examiner within a week of the assault took part. The goal was to see if this approach is practical and shows promise for a larger future study.
