See your surgery, heal faster? live video may ease fear after ACL repair

NCT ID NCT07540715

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether letting patients watch a live video of their own ACL surgery helps them feel less afraid of moving and re-injuring the knee afterward. 65 adults having ACL reconstruction under spinal anesthesia either watched their surgery in real time or received standard care. The goal was to see if this visual feedback reduces fear of movement and improves recovery up to 24 weeks after surgery.
