See your surgery, heal faster: live video eases fear after ACL repair

NCT ID NCT07540715

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether letting patients watch their own ACL surgery live on video helps them feel less afraid of moving after the operation. 65 adults having ACL reconstruction under spinal anesthesia either watched their surgery in real time or received standard care. The goal was to see if this simple viewing reduces fear of re-injury and improves recovery up to 24 weeks later.
