Sewage science: can nursing home wastewater predict superbug outbreaks?

NCT ID NCT07234331

Summary

This study aims to see if testing wastewater from nursing homes can help estimate how many residents carry antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Researchers will collect stool samples from 1600 residents and test the facility's wastewater to build a predictive model. The goal is to create a new, less invasive way to monitor these dangerous germs and potentially help prevent outbreaks.
