Dentists use VR headsets to fight smoking addiction
NCT ID NCT04524533
Summary
This study tests whether showing virtual reality videos about quitting smoking during dental cleanings helps people actually use proven methods to stop smoking. About 440 smokers in Massachusetts will watch either a quitting-focused video or a control video during their dental appointment, then receive follow-up text messages. Researchers will track if participants contact quitlines, use medications, or make serious attempts to quit over seven months.
