Dentists use VR headsets to fight smoking addiction
NCT ID NCT04524533
Summary
This study tests whether showing smokers virtual reality videos during their dental cleaning appointments helps them use proven methods to quit smoking. About 440 smokers in Boston will watch either a quit-smoking video or a control video during their appointment, then receive follow-up text messages. Researchers want to see if this approach leads more people to contact quitlines, use medications, or actually stop smoking over seven months.
