Virtual reality tested as a pain distraction for kids getting needles
NCT ID NCT05066061
Summary
This study tested whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset could help reduce pain and anxiety for children aged 6 to 11 who were getting an intravenous (IV) line placed. Researchers compared the VR distraction technique against standard pain relief methods, like numbing cream and a calming gas. The goal was to see if VR could make the procedure easier and less stressful for the children, their parents, and the nurses.
