Virtual reality vs. needles: can a headset ease Kids' hospital fears?
NCT ID NCT05066061
Summary
This study aimed to see if using a virtual reality (VR) headset could help reduce pain and anxiety for children aged 6 to 11 who need an intravenous (IV) catheter placed. Researchers compared the VR distraction technique against standard pain relief methods like numbing cream and a calming gas. The goal was to find a better way to make this common but stressful hospital procedure easier for kids and their parents.
