First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looked at 142 children aged 5-6 to see if their mothers' vitamin D levels during early pregnancy were linked to their lung function. Researchers measured airway resistance, a sign of breathing difficulty, in the children. The goal was to understand if low vitamin D in early pregnancy might increase the risk of asthma or other breathing problems later in childhood.
