Virtual reality goggles ease chemo distress in new study

NCT ID NCT06446115

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) for 15–30 minutes during a single chemotherapy session could help lower distress, anxiety, depression, and pain. 68 adults with any type of cancer and high distress levels took part. Half used VR with relaxing backgrounds, while the other half did a standard activity like reading. The goal was to see if VR makes chemo less stressful.
