First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a virtual reality headset during a single chemotherapy session could help cancer patients feel less distressed, anxious, or in pain. 68 adults with any type of cancer and high distress levels were randomly assigned to either use virtual reality for 15–30 minutes or do a standard relaxing activity like reading. The goal was to see if the virtual reality group had a greater drop in distress and pain scores right after the session.
