First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compared three methods for finding the best place to insert a needle into the spine for procedures like epidurals. The VerTouch device was tested against the standard method of feeling the back (palpation) and using ultrasound. The goal was to see if VerTouch reduces the number of times the needle needs to be adjusted or reinserted. The study involved 86 adults undergoing spinal procedures.
