Can a computer algorithm help doctors breathe better for heart patients?
NCT ID NCT07484828
Summary
This study looks back at the medical records of 100 adults who needed breathing machine support after cardiac arrest or cardiogenic shock. Researchers want to see how often these patients develop blood chemistry imbalances related to their breathing and compare the ventilator settings doctors actually used against those suggested by a computer algorithm called VentilO. The goal is to gather information that could help improve future breathing support guidelines for critically ill heart patients.
