Doctors test whether common Post-Surgery packing actually helps or just hurts
NCT ID NCT02943525
Summary
This study looked at whether using vaginal packing after a specific pelvic organ prolapse surgery helps patients or causes unnecessary discomfort. Researchers compared pain levels, satisfaction, and recovery in 253 women who had the surgery either with or without the packing. The goal was to see if this common practice improves healing or if patients do just as well without it.
