Doctors test whether common surgical packing actually helps or just hurts
NCT ID NCT02943525
Summary
This study looked at whether using vaginal packing after a specific pelvic organ prolapse surgery helps patients or causes unnecessary discomfort. Researchers compared pain levels, satisfaction, and recovery in 253 women who either received the packing or did not after their surgery. The goal was to see if this common practice improves healing or if going without it leads to less pain and similar long-term results.
