New DNA test could speed up UTI diagnosis and treatment

Summary

This study compares a new DNA-based test (DNA PCR) to the standard urine culture for diagnosing urinary tract infections (UTIs) in adults. Participants with UTI symptoms will be randomly assigned to one of the two testing methods. The goal is to see if the DNA test leads to faster treatment and better symptom relief. The study involves 136 participants and lasts up to 21 days.
