New hope for Crohn's patients with blocked bowels: drug combo may cut surgery need

Summary

This study is for people with moderate-to-severe Crohn's disease who have a narrowed intestine causing blockages. Researchers are testing a treatment plan centered on the drug ustekinumab to see if it can improve symptoms, reduce inflammation, and help patients avoid surgery or the need for other strong medications. About 239 adults will be followed for one year to track how well the treatment works.
