NCT ID NCT07000188
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether a quick, non-invasive neck ultrasound before spinal anesthesia could predict dangerous drops in blood pressure in 70 elderly patients (over 65). The goal was to see if measuring the internal jugular vein's size change with leg raising could help doctors identify those at risk. The approach is simple, safe, and could improve safety for older adults undergoing surgery.
