NCT ID NCT07000188
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether an ultrasound of the internal jugular vein in the neck can help predict low blood pressure after spinal anesthesia in patients over 65. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to check fluid levels before surgery. Researchers measured changes in the vein's size when patients moved from lying flat to raising their legs. The study involved 70 elderly patients undergoing elective surgery.
