First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether a one-hour crisis response planning session can reduce suicide risk better than standard care. 191 adults with current suicidal thoughts were randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. Researchers used brain scans and surveys to track changes in emotion, behavior, and suicide risk for six months after the session.
