Tutoring trial aims to keep 1,000 ivorian teens in school

NCT ID NCT07486778

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether tutoring can help teenagers in rural Côte d'Ivoire do better in school and avoid dropping out. About 1,000 adolescents will take part, split into two groups: current Grade 10 students at risk of failing a national exam, and teens who left school after Grade 7-9. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive peer tutoring, teacher tutoring, or no extra tutoring. The main goals are to see if tutoring helps more students pass the exam and re-enroll in school.
