First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested two injection treatments for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems that cause jaw pain and clicking. Twenty patients received either Botox into a jaw muscle or platelet-rich fibrin (a substance made from their own blood) into the joint space. Researchers measured pain, jaw movement, and joint sounds over six months to see which treatment worked better.
