Needle procedure could shrink thyroid growths without surgery

NCT ID NCT07360587

Summary

This study is testing a non-surgical procedure called thyroid artery embolization (TAE) for people with thyroid goiters that cause breathing or swallowing problems. The procedure blocks blood flow to the thyroid to shrink it, and is being tested on 20 patients who cannot or choose not to have surgery. Researchers will measure how much the goiters shrink and whether patients' symptoms improve over time.
