Shocking relief: simple electrical device may ease surgery pain

NCT ID NCT07307703

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a non-invasive device called TENS, which sends mild electrical pulses through the skin, can help people who are having their gallbladder removed. The goal is to see if it lowers anxiety before surgery, reduces pain afterward, and makes patients more satisfied with their care. About 80 adults will take part, with some receiving TENS plus standard care and others getting standard care alone.
