NCT ID NCT07344402

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear (taVNS) to see if it can improve bowel movements in adults with constipation that hasn't responded to standard treatments. One hundred participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the active stimulation or a sham (fake) version for 20 days. The main goal is to measure changes in weekly complete spontaneous bowel movements and to check for side effects.
