NCT ID NCT07344402
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests if a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear can improve bowel movements in adults with severe constipation that hasn't responded to standard treatments. One hundred participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the active stimulation or a sham (inactive) version for 20 days. The goal is to see if the treatment increases weekly complete spontaneous bowel movements and reduces the need for rescue laxatives.
