New study aims to make cancer trials more fair for minorities and older adults

NCT ID NCT05375643

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether extra support—like a patient navigator, text message check-ins, and an educational video—can help Black, Latinx, and older adults (70+) with advanced cancer get the genomic testing needed to join precision cancer trials. About 210 participants with gastrointestinal, blood, or lung cancers will take part. The goal is to see if these tools make trial enrollment more equitable.
