Letter from your doctor could save your life: new study aims to speed up colonoscopies

NCT ID NCT07520578

First seen Apr 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether sending an early letter to people who had a positive colorectal cancer screening test can help them get a follow-up colonoscopy faster. About 2,000 adults aged 50-75 in France will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care, an early letter from the cancer center, or an early letter co-signed by their own doctor. The goal is to see if these letters increase the number of colonoscopies done within 6 months.
