Brain surgery breakthrough? new drug tested to boost stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT07137832

Summary

This study is testing if adding a clot-busting drug directly into a blocked brain artery during a standard stroke surgery leads to better recovery. It will involve 530 adults who have had a stroke caused by a blockage in a medium-sized brain artery within the last 24 hours. Half will receive the standard surgery, and half will receive the surgery plus the additional drug, to see which group has better function 90 days later.
