New stent strategy could save stroke patients from lifelong disability

NCT ID NCT06472336

First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing a stent in the brain right after a stroke helps people recover better than the usual clot-removal methods. It includes 498 adults who had a stroke due to a hardened artery that didn't open with initial treatment. The goal is to see if stenting leads to less disability and better daily function.
