New stenting strategy could save stroke patients from lifelong disability
NCT ID NCT06472336
First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether placing a small tube (stent) in a hardened brain artery during a stroke helps patients recover better than the usual clot-removal methods. About 500 adults with severe stroke who did not improve after initial treatment will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see if stenting leads to less disability and better daily functioning.
