New study uses ultrasound to peek inside muscles after botox for stroke foot tightness

NCT ID NCT06767631

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026

Summary

This pilot study looks at how Botox injections affect the muscles, tendons, and nerves in the feet of people who have had a stroke and developed a tight, twisted foot (equinovarus). Researchers will use 3D ultrasound and special movement tests to track these changes over time. The goal is to gather data to plan larger studies, not to test a new treatment. About 12 first-time stroke patients will take part.
