First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests a highly targeted radiation technique called stereotactic partial breast irradiation (S-PBI) for women with early-stage breast cancer. The treatment uses a special device (GammaPod) to deliver radiation in just 5 sessions, aiming to kill cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. Researchers are checking how the breast looks and feels after 3 years, and whether the cancer comes back. The study involves 74 women and is currently active but not recruiting.
