First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding steroids and a powerful antibiotic combination to standard care can help more people with HIV survive sepsis, a life-threatening infection. About 344 adults in sub-Saharan Africa will receive either standard treatment or the enhanced therapy. The goal is to find a practical, scalable way to reduce deaths from sepsis in regions with high rates of TB and drug-resistant bacteria.
