Implanted device zaps away diabetic nerve pain
NCT ID NCT07250828
Summary
This study is testing a small, implanted device that sends mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to reduce chronic nerve pain in the feet and legs caused by diabetes. Up to 20 adults with painful diabetic neuropathy who haven't gotten enough relief from standard pain medications will try the device for a week. If their pain is cut in half, they can get the device permanently implanted to see if the pain relief lasts for six months.
