Implanted device offers new hope for diabetic nerve pain
NCT ID NCT07250828
Summary
This study is testing a small, implanted device that sends electrical pulses to the spinal cord to reduce chronic pain caused by diabetic nerve damage. Adults with painful diabetic neuropathy who haven't gotten enough relief from medications will first try the stimulation for one week. If their pain is cut in half, they can get the device permanently implanted to see if the pain relief lasts for six months.
