Can a visual display help you speak better? NYU study investigates
NCT ID NCT07530900
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at how people use their sense of hearing versus physical feeling when they speak. Healthy adults aged 18 to 45 will do speech tasks with altered audio feedback, sometimes with a visual display. Researchers will use a computer model to see if individual differences predict who benefits most from visual feedback. The goal is to understand how the brain controls speech, not to treat any condition.
