Wrist block study reveals secrets of blood flow control

NCT ID NCT07429292

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at how a targeted nerve block near the wrist affects blood flow and hand temperature in 20 healthy adults. Participants will receive an ultrasound-guided injection of anesthetic around the radial artery, and researchers will measure changes in finger pulse and hand temperature before and after a cold-water test. The goal is to better understand the body's automatic control of blood vessels, not to treat any disease.
