Could a new socket test save your front tooth implant?
NCT ID NCT06648135
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new way to evaluate the tooth socket before placing an immediate implant in the front upper jaw. Researchers will compare bone growth around implants placed with or without bone grafts in 25 adults. The goal is to see if socket dimensions affect bone formation, helping dentists decide when grafts are needed.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to better guidelines for placing immediate dental implants, reducing bone loss and improving long-term outcomes.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 25 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The approach is observational and does not test a new treatment.
