Major health trial tests best way to help smokers quit during cancer screening
NCT ID NCT06290869
Summary
This study aims to find the most effective way to help people quit smoking when they come in for lung cancer screening. Researchers will compare two different phone-based support programs—one run by a state quitline and one run directly by the health system—for 1,188 current smokers. The main goal is to see which approach leads to more people successfully quitting cigarettes at 3 and 6 months.
