Major health trial aims to slash smoking rates during cancer scans
NCT ID NCT06290869
Summary
This study is testing which of two proven smoking cessation programs works better for people getting lung cancer screening. It will enroll 1,188 current smokers to compare phone counseling through a state quitline versus a health system's own program. The goal is to find the most effective way to help this high-risk group quit smoking and lower their cancer risk.
