NCT ID NCT07437716
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (a weight-loss surgery) helps adults aged 65 and older with severe obesity and related health problems like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and knee arthritis. Sixty patients chose either surgery or non-surgical care (diet advice and medications) and were followed for 12 months. The goal was to see if surgery leads to better control or resolution of these conditions compared to standard treatment.
