Could your sleep warn you before a gut disease flare?

NCT ID NCT05835973

Summary

This study aims to find out if changes in a person's sleep patterns can serve as an early warning sign for flare-ups of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Researchers will monitor 216 adults with IBD who are currently in remission, tracking their sleep quality with wrist-worn devices and questionnaires for one year. The goal is to learn if sleep efficiency drops before a disease flare begins, which could help doctors and patients act sooner.
