Sleep apnea treatment may be key to stopping diabetes in prediabetes

NCT ID NCT04225507

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding CPAP therapy (a machine that helps you breathe during sleep) to standard lifestyle changes can lower the risk of developing diabetes in people who have prediabetes and are overweight. About 174 participants will be followed for 6 months to see if their blood sugar and blood pressure improve more with CPAP than with lifestyle changes alone.
