New gel could boost sinus surgery recovery

Summary
This study tests whether a special gel placed in the sinuses after surgery can reduce inflammation and improve healing for people with chronic sinusitis. About 180 adults having sinus surgery will receive either the medicated gel or a placebo. The gel contains povidone-iodine (an antiseptic) and budesonide (a steroid) to fight infection and swelling.
