First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a home-based shoulder strength training program can improve shoulder health in people who use manual wheelchairs after a spinal cord injury. Forty participants will start training either 3 or 12 months after leaving rehab, doing exercises twice a week for 12 weeks. Researchers will track pain, strength, and daily wheelchair use over 15 months to see if early training makes a difference.
