Summary
This study looks at whether giving a single dose of amoxicillin before a simple tooth extraction can lower the chance of infection in people with autoimmune rheumatic diseases who take immune-suppressing drugs. About 352 adults will take part, and half will get the antibiotic while the other half gets a placebo. The goal is to find out if this common practice actually works, since there is little evidence to support it.
