First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a type of diabetes medication called SGLT-2 inhibitors can help control ascites (fluid buildup in the belly) in people with liver cirrhosis and type 2 diabetes. Researchers will compare 40 patients who receive the drug plus standard care against those who receive standard care alone for 6 months. The goal is to see if the drug reduces fluid retention and improves blood sugar control.
